Fans of the coveted Mario & Luigi series will notice the roots of many gameplay ideas that would soon be fleshed out, and further expanded upon in the iconic series. This light-hearted RPG features much of the same quirky humor and gameplay charm that is a common staple of AlphaDream’s finest RPGs. In order to gain access to Gimmick Palace and save the day, DeMille must first take down the almighty 6 Super Kids. Gimmick Land has you take control of DeMille, a young boy who must embark on a legendary journey to save his girlfriend from the clutches of the evil King Abira. Before the “Nintendo Gigaleak” of September 2020, the only public documentation of Gimmick Land that existed was two screenshots. Gimmick Land was completely finished and intended for release, but Nintendo asked AlphaDream to rework the game in order to better suit their newest iteration in the Game Boy line of products. This game essentially serves as a prototype for Tomato Adventure, a game for the GBA that received an English fan translation in 2021. Gimmick Land is an RPG for the GBC developed by AlphaDream, who are perhaps best known for their work on the beloved Mario & Luigi series. Because for the first time in history, Gimmick Land is now available to play in English! This E3 footage has the real N64 save theme.Breaking news! Breaking news! It’s finally time for the kids of the Ketchup Kingdom to celebrate. *UPDATE: Going to keep this here, but this isn't actually a save theme from the N64 version. Play "N64 Save Theme" (Early End Credits Theme)

If anyone has the trial and a dolphin emulator, or even a real Action Replay with the disc (the method I use. The Resident Evil community sure enjoys their ambiguity. They probably are from the trial disc, though. I have made an area modifier code, but those backdrops I haven't been able to load in game. This theme is in fact in the Biohazard 0 Trial Edition, so that video is most likely from the Gamecube disc. There's also a "pre-rendered backdrops" video on youtube, of images from the N64 version:Īlleged "N64 Save Theme" (actually early end credits theme)Ī couple of people in the comments seem to be under the impression that this material came from an N64 prototype. neither of these posters specify where this material came from. Rebecca is also still voiced by her N64 actor in the demo. I didn't personally discover that one, but the fact that it's on there is mind-blowing. Hell, it even has a fully rendered cutscene from the N64 build on the disc. but it's pretty much the middle ground between that version, and the final Gamecube release.

What a lot of people don't seem to realize, is that this demo is basically a full prototype of Resident Evil 0. and some look completely different from the retail game. That demo is also not terribly "developed" beyond the train, but all of the areas are present on the disc (just takes a little hacking), at least in some early/semi-playable form. I spent a long time hacking the Biohazard 0 Trial Edition on Gamecube, and recently got back into it. I know the general consensus is that the N64 build was never truly developed beyond the train, but I suspect more work was done to at least the training facility portion of the game than anyone would be lead to believe.
